Advocate Ascho Marzia becomes the First Female Advocate to reach Supreme Court in Gilgit-Baltistan

On Wednesday in ceremony of enrollment of Supreme court Lawyers in Pakistan, Advocate Ascho Marzia was awarded licensed and she become the first female to achieve the license of Supreme Court in Gilgit-Baltistan.

In a Region as Gilgit-Baltistan with population limited to certain profession, its hardly achievable by women to reach to the top level in the field. Advocate Ascho Marzia came from background partially supportive and partially non-cooperative.

Albeit, there has been great progress for women in the legal field, there are still numerous obstacles and difficulties for them to overcome. A large number of female Lawyers are successfully practising law and contributing significantly to it. Leadership roles held by women lawyers are increasing, and many of them are setting the standard for the promotion of gender equality and women’s rights in the workplace.
