LHCBA Urges Punjab Chief Secretary to Act Against Misuse of Religious Titles in Gilgit-Baltistan

The Lahore High Court Bar Association (LHCBA) has formally requested the Chief Secretary Punjab to take notice of the alleged misuse of sacred Islamic titles in Gilgit-Baltistan, urging strict enforcement of Sections 298-B and 298-C of the Pakistan Penal Code. In a letter issued on Friday, the Bar claimed that certain groups in Gilgit-Baltistan have been referring to their leader using the title “Ameer-ul-Momineen / Ameer-ul-Musalimeen”, which, according to the Constitution and Pakistan’s criminal laws, is reserved exclusively for Prophet Muhammad (PBUH).
