Judicial Commission to Hold Three Key Meetings on December 2

ISLAMABAD — The Judicial Commission of Pakistan (JCP), chaired by the Chief Justice, is set to convene three important sessions on December 2 at the Supreme Court to deliberate on major judicial appointments.

 

According to the agenda issued for the meetings, the Commission will consider the appointment of a permanent judge to the Supreme Court as well as the elevation of new Chief Justices for the Sindh High Court (SHC) and the Balochistan High Court (BHC).

 

The first session of the Commission will begin at 1:30 pm, followed by the second at 2:00 pm and the third at 2:30 pm.

 

In the first meeting, the JCP will review the names of the three most senior judges of the Sindh High Court for the position of Chief Justice.

 

The second meeting will focus on the Balochistan High Court, where the Commission will evaluate the top three senior judges for appointment as the permanent Chief Justice of the BHC.

 

The third and final meeting of the day will consider candidates from the Islamabad High Court (IHC) for elevation to the Supreme Court. The Commission will examine the names of the three senior-most IHC judges: Chief Justice Sarfaraz Dogar, Justice Mohsin Akhtar Kayani, and Justice Miangul Hassan Aurangzeb.
