Karachi Bar Association Condemns Islamabad Court Suicide Blast, Calls Lawyers’ Convention Against 27th Amendment

Karachi, 12 November 2025: The Karachi Bar Association (KBA) held a Lawyers’ Convention today at its auditorium, led by President Amir Wirraich and attended by Advocate Haseeb Jamali along with senior members of the legal fraternity, to condemn the recent suicide blast on 11th Nov, 2025 as well as the passing of 27th Amendment. The attack claimed the lives of at least twelve individuals, including practicing advocates, and left several others injured.

The KBA described the incident as a “barbaric act of terror” deliberately targeting the premises of justice, calling it a direct assault on the judiciary, rule of law, and sanctity of the courts. Expressing deepest sorrow and strongest condemnation, the KBA stood in solidarity with the Islamabad Bar Association, the victims’ families, and the injured, urging the Federal Government and law-enforcement agencies to conduct a transparent, high-level investigation to apprehend all perpetrators and facilitators.

Marking the day as a Black Day for the legal community, the KBA called upon all bar councils across Pakistan to observe mourning, hoist black flags at bar premises, offer Fateha for the departed, and implement a complete lawyers’ strike on Wednesday, 12 November 2025, in solidarity with the victims.

At the Convention, the KBA also voiced strong opposition to the proposed 27th Constitutional Amendment, warning that it poses serious threats to judicial independence, provincial autonomy, and the spirit of the 1973 Constitution. The association reaffirmed its commitment to defend the Constitution and stated that neither acts of terror nor attempts to manipulate the Constitution will deter the legal fraternity from upholding the rule of law, democracy, and justice.
