Ishrat Ali Lohar Elected President in 2025 Hyderabad High Court Bar Association Elections – Unofficial Results Announced

Hyderabad, April 26 – In the recently held elections for the High Court Bar Association (HCBA), Hyderabad, Mr. Ishrat Ali Lohar has been unofficially elected as President for the year 2025. The unofficial results were announced by Yasir Arfat Shar, Returning Officer and Member of the Sindh Bar Council.

The polling was conducted at booths numbered 0115 04 and 01 04, with strong participation from the legal fraternity. Mr. Ishrat Ali Lohar secured 734 votes, defeating Mr. Khuda Bux @ K.B. Laghari, who received 688 votes, and Mr. Muhammad Sachal R. Awan, who got 147 votes.

For the position of Vice President, Mr. Muhammad Hassan Chandio received 436 votes, narrowly leading over Mr. Nisar Ahmed Channa, who polled 424 votes. The post of General Secretary was won by Mr. Imran Ali Borano with 1,092 votes, while his closest rival, Mr. Israr Hussain Chang, received 633 votes, followed by Mr. Syed Shahzad Ali Shah with 499 votes.

Mr. Ghulam Ali Talpur was elected as Joint Secretary with 774 votes, beating Mr. Zulfiqar Ali Chandio (426 votes) and Mr. Sartar Iqbal Panhwar (336 votes). For Library Secretary, Mr. Zain-ul-Abdin Sahito emerged victorious with 1,021 votes, ahead of Mr. Agha Waqar Ahmed, who received 526 votes.

The position of Treasurer was secured by Mr. Waqar Ali Laghari, who received 544 votes, followed by Mr. Mehboob Ali Solangi (514 votes), Mr. Zeeshan Ali Memon (214 votes), Mr. Imdad Ali Dahri (143 votes), and Mr. Imtiaz Ahmed Hassan Abro (127 votes).

In the Managing Committee, six members were elected based on the number of votes received. These include Mr. Abdul Aziz Palli (1,145 votes), Mr. Hatim Ali Soomro (952 votes), Mr. Mir Murtaza Abro (8,751 votes), Mr. Kewal Kumar (10,562 votes), Ms. Noureen (1,009 votes), and Ms. Ufera Fatima (950 votes).

Other candidates for the Managing Committee included Mr. Azhar Hussain Solangi (914 votes), Mr. Muhammad Nasir Abro (488 votes), Mr. Najabddin Rajper (836 votes), Mr. Qadir Bux Ghirano (535 votes), Mr. Safdar Ali Panhwar (630 votes), and Mr. Shafqat Hussain Chandio (785 votes).

The official announcement of results will follow after final verification. These elections reflect the strong democratic traditions and active participation of the legal community in Hyderabad.
