Judicial Vacancies Announced in Punjab: Applications Open for Civil Judge-cum-Magistrate Posts

Lahore, April 26 – The Lahore High Court, through Advertisement No. 01/2025/CJM/(R&E), has officially opened applications for the post of Civil Judge-cum-Magistrate (BS-17) in Punjab. The vacancies are temporary but likely to become permanent, and come with all standard fringe benefits.

The Examination Wing of the Lahore High Court invites aspiring candidates domiciled in Punjab to apply through the prescribed online form, available on the court’s official website www.lhc.gov.pk/jobs.

Eligibility Criteria:

  1. Candidates must hold a Law degree from a recognized university or be a member of the Faculty of Advocates of Scotland.
  2. They must have at least two years of active legal practice as an advocate after enrollment with any Bar Association, in accordance with the Punjab Legal Practitioners and Bar Council Rules, 2023.
  3. Age must be between 22 and 35 years as of May 5, 2025.

Quota Reservations:

  • 3% reserved for differently-abled persons.
  • 5% reserved for minorities, as per government regulations.

Examination and Selection Process:

Candidates will undergo a written examination on law and related subjects, as per S&GAD Notification dated April 8, 2025. A minimum of 40% in each paper and 45% aggregate is required to qualify for the next stages: a psychological and aptitude test, followed by a viva voce carrying 300 marks. Candidates must score at least 150/300 (50%) in the interview to be considered successful.

How to Apply:

  • Applications must be submitted online via the official form.
  • A non-refundable fee of Rs. 5,000 must be deposited in any MCB branch (Gold Saving Account No. 0785503341001134).
  • The hard copy of the online application, original fee slip, and required documents must reach the Registrar, Examination Wing, Lahore High Court through courier by May 5, 2025. Late submissions will not be entertained.

The date for the written examination will be announced later. Candidates are advised to carefully read and follow all instructions provided with the application form.
