Barrister Sarfaraz Metlo Elected President of Sindh High Court Bar Association 2024-25

The Sindh High Court Bar Association (SHCBA) has announced the results of its 2024-25 cabinet elections, marking the conclusion of a closely contested race. Barrister Sarfaraz Metlo has been elected as the President after a narrow victory over Haseeb Jamali, highlighting the intense competition for the top leadership position.

Muhammad Rahib Lakho secured the Vice President seat, reflecting strong support from the voters. Mirza Sarfaraz Ahmed was elected as Honorary Secretary, while Athar Ali Memon won the position of Honorary Treasurer. Waseem Saif Khoso claimed the Joint Secretary seat. Faqia Amin secured the Additional Joint Secretary position for the female reserved seat with an impressive 3,018 votes, showcasing her widespread popularity within the legal community.

The election also filled the nine-member Managing Committee seats, with the following individuals emerging as the top candidates: Mr. Aamer Latif, Mr. Dewan Tarachand, Mr. Muhammad Faisal Khan, Mr. Rizwan Ali Rajper, Ms. Safia Qadir, Mr. Ubedullah Abro, Ms. Urooj Akhlaq, and Ms. Zahida Kamal.

The newly elected cabinet will officially assume office on Monday, 9th December 2024. The date and details of the oath-taking ceremony are expected to be announced soon.

This year’s election was particularly competitive, reflecting the active engagement and commitment of the legal fraternity in shaping the leadership of the Sindh High Court Bar Association. The newly elected leaders face the responsibility of addressing key issues, promoting professional development, and ensuring the effective functioning of the Bar Association.
