No easy Withdrawal in Faizabad Case review Petition says Chief Justice

The top judge of Pakistan, Qazi Faez Isa, said that if the court’s decision regarding the 2017 protest by the Tehreek-i-Labbaik Pakistan (TLP) at Faizabad in Islamabad had been followed, it could have prevented future “serious incidents.

The Chief Justice of Pakistan said that if this decision had been made earlier, then bad things would not have happened later.
He said this while listening to a group of requests to review the Supreme Court’s decision.

A group of three judges, led by Chief Justice of Pakistan Qazi Faez Isa, heard the review Petition.

During the court session, the defense ministry, the PTI political party, Ijazul Haq (son of former military dictator Ziaul Haq), the Intelligence Bureau, and the Pakistan Electronic Media Regulatory Authority (Pemra) all decided to withdraw their requests. This made the Chief Justice of Pakistan wonder why everyone was scared to tell the truth.

Mansoor Usman Awan, who is the Attorney-General for Pakistan, assured the court that the judgments made in the Faizabad case will be followed by the government.
