Peshwar Bar Association held General House Meeting

A general body meeting of the Peshawar Bar Association was conducted on September 9, 2023, and it was presided over by Ashfaq Ahmad Khalil Advocate, president of the Peshawar Bar.

The gathering was called in order to stage a protest against rising prices for goods including electricity, gas and petrol. Ashfaq Ahmad Khalil Advocate, the president of the Peshawar Bar Association, presided over the meeting. Additionally taking part in the demonstration were solicitors and Peshawar Bar staff. Lawyers and protest leaders declared that it is completely unacceptable for the people to bear the costs of nobility’s opulence.

The bar association expressed its belief at the meeting that, just as in 2007, when they built a wall against the dictatorship to defend the supremacy of the constitution and the rule of law, the masters will continue to fight for the rights of the people by putting their hands on the power collars. He added that any law, act, or ordinance that goes against the government’s democratic principles and the constitution is totally unacceptable

A protest camp would be put up in Peshawar’s covered District Courts starting the following week, warns the advocate Ahmed Khalil Advocate, and will remain there until the President and the government end their anti-people policies.
