Islamabad Club filed Petition in IHC against Public Declaration order of PIC

One of the most Luxurious Islamabad Club filed petition against Pakistan Information Commission’s (PIC) for enforcing to show information about its land’s lease, payments and area size public.

In the petition, the secretary of the Islamabad Club argued that the information commission had directed disclosure of information regarding “the total land area of the Islamabad Club, yearly lease values that the Islamabad Club has to pay under the lease or contract between the government and the Islamabad Club, where the current lease was signed, and for how many years the lease has been granted.”

The petition contended that because the Islamabad Club does not get any financial support from the public institutions or government, the applicant is not liable to provide such information publically.

The petition argued that because the Islamabad High Court is now considering whether the Public  Information Commission has the authority to issue directions in this situation, no additional instructions may be issued by the PIC prior to the IHC’s ruling.

Back in January Many Beurochrats were caught in spending the students scholarship money in Islamabad Club but the new was never confirmed nor the government agencies took action against them
