KARACHI – 28 January 2026: The Sindh Bar Council (SBC) has initiated an inquiry into the issuance of an enrolment certificate and SBC ID card to an individual identified as Rustam Ali, despite the absence of key mandatory academic and professional documents.
According to an official letter issued by Chairman Executive Committee Ayaz Hussain Tunio, the Council discovered that the advocate’s file was missing essential records, including his LLB degree, consolidated marksheet, GPA details, Bar Vocational Course certificate, and certificate of pupillage.
The matter came under scrutiny after two complaints were filed, prompting the Executive Committee to verify Rustam Ali’s credentials. The SBC has directed a thorough investigation to determine how the enrolment and ID card were processed without the required documentation, and whether any officials were involved in the irregularity.
A comprehensive inquiry report has been ordered to be submitted by 31 January 2026, while the Vice Chairman has been instructed to retain custody of the original enrolment file until the probe concludes.
