Syed Wajid Ali Shah Gillani Elected as President of Islamabad High Court Bar Association (2025-2026)

The elections for the Islamabad High Court Bar Association for the year 2025-2026 were held on February 22, 2025, with an enthusiastic turnout from the legal community. After a competitive race, the following candidates secured the highest votes in their respective categories and were declared successful. Syed Wajid Ali Shah Gillani emerged as the winner for the position of President, securing 974 votes, while his opponent Abdul Wahid Qureshi received 704 votes. Mr. Iftikhar Ahmad Bajwa was elected as the Vice President, garnering 896 votes, leaving Raja Manzar Ali Kayani with 673 votes. In the race for Secretary, Ch. Manzoor Ahmed Jajja received 844 votes, defeating Barr. Qasim Nawaz Abbasi, who secured 828 votes. Mr. Imran Ishfaq claimed victory as the Joint Secretary with 966 votes, while Mr. Zahir Shah received 654 votes. The position of Additional Secretary was closely contested, with Bushra Tariq Raja winning with 825 votes, narrowly ahead of Dr. Palwasha Ayaz Khan, who garnered 815 votes. Lastly, Mr. Fazal Maula was elected as Finance Secretary with 966 votes, while his opponent Mr. Mohsin Ali Abbasi received 604 votes.

 

With these results, the newly elected office-bearers are poised to lead the Islamabad High Court Bar Association for the upcoming term. Congratulations to all the winners, and the legal community looks forward to their leadership in advancing the interests of the profession.
