Rawalpindi Bar Association Announces Approval of Personal Bail for Non-Prohibitory Offenses

Rawalpindi, February 20, 2025 – In a significant development, the Rawalpindi Bar Association has issued a notice dated February 19, 2025, informing its members about the approval of personal bail for certain offenses. The decision comes in response to a demand made by the Executive Committee of the District Bar Association Rawalpindi.

According to the notice, the District and Sessions Judge of Rawalpindi has granted personal bail for all offenses that do not fall under the Prohibitory Clause. This move is expected to provide relief to individuals facing charges for non-prohibitory offenses, streamlining the bail process and reducing unnecessary delays in the judicial system.

The Rawalpindi Bar Association emphasized that this decision reflects the judiciary’s commitment to ensuring justice and fairness while addressing the concerns of legal practitioners and the public. Members of the Bar have been urged to familiarize themselves with the details of the approval and guide their clients accordingly.

This development is seen as a positive step toward improving access to justice and reducing the burden on the legal system. Legal experts believe that the grant of personal bail for non-prohibitory offenses will help expedite case resolutions and alleviate overcrowding in detention facilities.

For further updates and clarifications, members of the Bar are advised to contact the Rawalpindi Bar Association directly.
