Karachi: The Karachi Bar Association (KBA) has strongly condemned the illegal abduction of Mr. Nisar Ali Shahzad, a retired Lieutenant Colonel and father of Advocate Haziq Ali Khan of the Lahore High Court. The incident occurred on December 13, 2024, at approximately 5:00 PM at their residence in Askari 11, Sector B, Bedian Road, Lahore.

According to the KBA, unknown individuals in civilian attire forcibly abducted Mr. Shahzad and unlawfully removed the CCTV footage from his residence. Following the incident, a First Information Report (FIR No. 2933/2024) was registered at PS Heyr, and a petition was filed by Advocate Haziq Ali Khan seeking his father’s recovery.

The KBA has called on law enforcement authorities, including the Inspector General (IG) Punjab Police and S.P. Cantt Lahore, to launch a thorough investigation. It has urged the S.H.O. PS Heyr, Lahore, to take immediate measures to locate and recover Mr. Shahzad, apprehend the culprits, and ensure accountability.

“We stand in solidarity with Advocate Haziq Ali Khan and his family during this challenging time. The rule of law must prevail, and those responsible for this unlawful act must be brought to justice,” said Amir Nawaz Warraich, President of the Karachi Bar Association, in an official statement.

The KBA emphasized the importance of swift and decisive action to uphold the principles of justice and safeguard the legal community from such incidents.
