Supreme Court Holidays Announced; Registries Remain Operational

ISLAMABAD, October 14, 2024– The Supreme Court’s principal seat in Islamabad will observe holidays on October 14, 15, and 16. Despite this closure, judicial activities will continue at the Supreme Court’s registries in Lahore, Karachi, Peshawar, and Quetta.

A notification has been issued confirming bench formations for the upcoming judicial week. On October 14, the Lahore registry will feature a bench comprising Justice Aminuddin Khan and Justice Shahid Bilal Hassan, set to hear various cases.

In Karachi, two regular benches will operate on the same day. One bench will consist of Justice Muhammad Ali Mazhar and Justice Irfan Saadat Khan, while the other will include Justice Hassan Azhar Rizvi and Justice Aqeel Abbasi.

For October 15 and 16, the Peshawar registry will host a regular bench with Justice Yahya Afridi and Justice Mussarat Hilali presiding. The Lahore registry will continue its hearings with the same justices, while Karachi will again see cases handled by Justice Hassan Azhar Rizvi and Justice Aqeel Abbasi.

This arrangement ensures continued access to justice during the holidays at the Supreme Court’s registries across the country.
