Balochistan Bar Associations Condemn FIR Against Mehmood Khan Achakzai, Call for Boycott

The Balochistan Bar Council and the Balochistan High Court Bar Association have jointly denounced the recent registration of an FIR against Pashtun Khawa Milli Awami Party chief Mehmood Khan Achakzai at the Gwalmandi police station. In a strongly-worded statement, they expressed profound dismay over what they perceive as a reactionary move by the government to target national leaders. The FIR against Achakzai has sparked outrage among legal circles, with the bar associations viewing it as a blatant attempt to silence dissent and stifle democratic voices.

Furthermore, the bar associations have called for a boycott in protest against the FIR, symbolizing their solidarity with Mehmood Khan Achakzai and their firm stance against what they deem as arbitrary and repressive actions by the government. The symbol of black cloth, signifying mourning and protest, has emerged as a visible expression of discontent and defiance in district bars across Balochistan. This widespread display underscores the legal fraternity’s united condemnation of what they perceive as an assault on democratic values and fundamental rights.

Amid growing tensions, the legal community stands resolute in its demand for justice and the upholding of constitutional principles. The bar associations have reiterated their commitment to defending the rule of law and constitutional rights, vowing to continue their protest until the FIR against Mehmood Khan Achakzai is revoked and measures are taken to safeguard democratic freedoms and the independence of the judiciary.
