Son of Serving District Judge South Javaid Ahmed Keerio Allegedly Murdered by Friend

In a shocking turn of events, Ali Keerio, the son of District and Sessions Judge (South) Javaid Ahmed Keerio, was tragically gunned down allegedly by his friend Daniyal Nazeer Mirbahar in Defence Housing Authority (DHA), Karachi. The incident, which occurred on Friday, has left the city reeling in shock.

According to DIG-South Syed Asad Raza, the suspect, Daniyal Nazeer Mirbahar, was promptly arrested and taken into police custody following the incident. The Darakshan police have registered a murder case against Mirbahar based on the complaint of the victim’s cousin, Shahbaz Alam.

Reports suggest that the fatal altercation took place at Mirbahar’s residence in DHA, Phase-V, following an exchange of heated words between the two friends. Ali Keerio sustained a gunshot wound to the chest during the confrontation and was rushed to a nearby private hospital in Clifton, where he was pronounced dead. The body was later shifted to Jinnah Postgraduate Medical Centre for necessary legal procedures.

Police Surgeon Summaiya Syed confirmed that Ali Keerio had suffered a single bullet wound to the chest, further underscoring the gravity of the incident.

The death ceremony was held on 9th February with legal community expressed sorrow and shock over the death. The son was renowned among the community because of the good nature.

The tragic demise of Ali Keerio has sent shockwaves across the legal fraternity, with routine proceedings at the City Courts disrupted in light of the mourning. The Karachi Bar Association (KBA) has also appealed to the judiciary to refrain from passing any adverse orders against litigants during this period of collective grief, emphasizing the need for solidarity and compassion in the face of such a profound loss.
