Script reading by Care taker Government Prime minister at UN – Begging of $ 13 Billion

A summit in Geneva co-hosted by the UN and Pakistan sought to gather funding for renovation and repair of the flood victims back in October 2022.
The United Nations General Assembly arranged an informal meeting in New York to examine the results of the international community’s commitments made to support flood-affected families in Pakistan in the wake of last year’s monsoon destruction, and Pakistan Government has requested a total of $19 billion.

At the UN General Assembly, Care taker Primeminister stated that Pakistan is pleased with the pledges of over $10.5 billion made at the Geneva Conference in January for Pakistan’s comprehensive plan for recovery, rehabilitation, and reconstruction with resilience (the 4RF Plan). To guarantee prompt finance and 4RF Plan execution, specific projects are being presented. And is hoping that its development partners will give our “resilient” recovery Plan, which has a $13 billion price tag, top priority when allocating (releasing) funding.
Last week, the interim foreign minister expressed hope that the financial commitments made by numerous bilateral and multilateral donors to support Pakistan’s reconstruction efforts would soon be fulfilled.

The participants at the Geneva Conference promised more than $9 billion to help raise the money required to reconstruct the homes, roads, and railway tracks that were destroyed by flash floods that submerged parts of the country and forced millions of people to flee to Pakistan.
