Chief Justice of Pakistan Represents Country at Global Legal Forum in Russia

The Chief Justice of Pakistan led the Pakistani delegation to the 14th St. Petersburg International Legal Forum (SPILF), held from June 24 to 26 in the Russian Federation. The delegation, which also included the Chief Justice of the Federal Constitutional Court of Pakistan and Pakistan’s Ambassador to Russia, joined more than 5,000 participants from over 80 countries, including chief justices, judges, justice ministers, heads of international organizations, legal scholars, and policymakers from across the world.

During the Forum, the Chief Justice held a series of bilateral meetings with heads of foreign judiciaries, including representatives of the Supreme Court of the Russian Federation. The discussions focused on strengthening judicial cooperation through judicial exchanges, legal research, judicial education, court administration, digital transformation, and the sharing of international best practices.

The Pakistani delegation also highlighted Pakistan’s ongoing judicial reform initiatives, including progress in court digitalization, the responsible adoption of emerging technologies, institutional strengthening, and measures to improve access to justice. The engagements provided an opportunity to exchange views on contemporary challenges confronting justice systems and to promote greater international judicial collaboration.

The Forum concluded with a plenary session attended by judicial leaders, policymakers, legal scholars, and practitioners from numerous jurisdictions. Pakistan’s participation reaffirmed the Supreme Court of Pakistan’s commitment to judicial diplomacy, international cooperation, and the promotion of an independent, efficient, accessible, and technology-enabled justice system through sustained engagement with the global legal community.
