LAHORE – The newly constructed Lahore Court building, comprising 40 courts across nine floors, has been completed but is already drawing criticism from the legal fraternity.
Lawyers have expressed serious concerns over the lack of basic facilities in the building. Despite its scale, the structure has no toilet facilities on any floor and no sitting areas for litigants or practitioners, making it extremely inconvenient for daily court users.
Members of the bar have termed the situation as a clear example of mismanagement and ill-planned construction. They questioned how such deficiencies could exist in a major judicial building and warned that if courts are built in this manner, conditions in other public projects—particularly in areas with no monitoring authority—would be even worse.
The issue has sparked debate within legal circles, with calls for immediate rectification before the building is made fully functional.
