Advocate Chaudhry Aitzaz Ahsan

Chaudhry Aitzaz Ahsan, a Pakistani politician and attorney, was born on September 27, 1945. In the Pakistani Senate, he held the position of Leader of the House twice, from 1994 to 1997 and again from 2012 to 2015. Ahsan, a Murree native, completed his legal studies at the Government College in Lahore and obtained an LLM from Downing College in Cambridge.

  In 1975, Barrister Ahsan was appointed Punjab’s Minister of Planning and Development. Ahsan rose to prominence in the Movement for the Restoration of Democracy following the Operation Fair Play coup. 

He is Aitzaz Ahsan & Associates’ senior partner. 

Ahsan has defended a number of prominent Pakistani individuals, including three Prime Ministers of Pakistan, Nawaz Sharif, Benazir Bhutto, and Yousaf Raza Gillani, in a variety of proceedings. Asif Ali Zardari, a former president of Pakistan. He had also presided over the Pakistan Supreme Court Bar Association.
