CJP Fined FBR Advocate for Submitting incomplete documents in SC

Chief Justice Qazi Faez Isa Charged an FBR lawyer of Rs. 2000 on Tuesday for submitting insufficient paperwork in an income tax matter

A lawyer who appeared before the court with missing documents and members of the income tax department who were assisting the court in the case were each fined Rs 2,000 by the Chief Justice. The legal representative was told to donate the fine to a charity and give the court a receipt as proof of payment until the next date.

Chief Justice carried the view that representatives of the income tax department should have been present in income tax matters as this. The concerned department is not prepared to assist the SC in these matters, CJP Isa said, despite the fact that the court is to blame for stay orders on cases involving income tax.

This action demonstrates the Chief Justice’s dedication to upholding accuracy and professionalism in judicial proceedings.
