The Supreme Court of Pakistan has announced its Summer Vacation Schedule for 2026. Under the new arrangement, judges of the apex court have agreed to maximize their sitting period at the Principal Seat in Islamabad during the summer recess while reducing the sitting period, if any, at the Branch Registries.
According to an official statement, the decision was taken after consultation among the Hon’ble Judges at the request of the Hon’ble Chief Justice of Pakistan. The period of vacation to be availed by the judges will remain four weeks, consistent with previous years, but the allocation of sitting days during the recess has been adjusted.
The Supreme Court stated that the arrangement has been introduced to facilitate the continued hearing and disposal of cases during the vacation period and to make greater use of the Court’s available judicial resources. The revised schedule is expected to increase judicial availability at the Principal Seat in Islamabad throughout the summer recess.
