Attempt to file case against Arif Alvi despite Presidential Pardon

President Arif Alvi’s removal from office has been petitioned in a Supreme Court application despite the Pardon. The petition cannot be admitted and will stand disposed of expectedly

an unreliable source informed that Imtiaz Chaudhry an MNA , submitted the plea. He endorsed in the plea the President did not endorse the Supreme Court Procedure Bill that was forwarded by the parliament. The applicant pleaded with the Supreme Court to declare Alvi ineligible for the presidency.

The argument stated that Alvi was partial towards a particular party and that his failure to fulfil his constitutional obligations demonstrated that he was unfit to serve as president.

It also stated that he had declined to sign the Islamabad Local Government Act and the NAB Amendment Bill.
