In a show of solidarity and unity, President of the Quetta Bar Association, Qari Rehmatullah Kakar, alongside other prominent lawyers including members of the Balochistan Bar Council, convened a press conference to address the recent incidents of police brutality against lawyers in Lahore.
During the press conference, President Qari Rehmatullah Kakar, Member Balochistan Bar Council, Vice President Humira Munir, Library Secretary Kamran Banglazai, Malik Hafeez Muhammad Shehai, and several other legal luminaries expressed unwavering support for their colleagues in Lahore. They emphasized that the legal fraternity across the country stands united in condemning the unjustified use of force by law enforcement agencies against lawyers.
“We stand shoulder to shoulder with the lawyers of Lahore,” declared President Qari Rehmatullah Kakar, echoing the sentiments of the assembled legal professionals. “They should not consider themselves alone in this struggle. The baton charge, shelling, and brutality inflicted upon our fellow lawyers are intolerable and must be met with a united front.”
Highlighting the need for peaceful resolution and dialogue, Vice President Humira Munir underscored the detrimental effects of resorting to force instead of addressing grievances through constructive means. “The use of force only serves to exacerbate tensions and sow discord within our legal community,” she stated. “It is imperative that this trend of aggression be halted immediately.”
Library Secretary Kamran Banglazai echoed these sentiments, emphasizing the importance of upholding the rule of law and protecting the rights of legal practitioners. “As guardians of justice, it is incumbent upon us to uphold the principles of fairness and accountability,” he remarked. “We call upon the authorities to ensure that the rights of lawyers are respected and that perpetrators of violence are held accountable for their actions.”
Malik Hafeez Muhammad Shehai reaffirmed the commitment of the Quetta Bar Association to support their counterparts in Lahore and pledged to await further instructions from their colleagues in the ongoing struggle for justice and accountability.
In conclusion, the legal fraternity of Quetta reiterated their steadfast commitment to standing in solidarity with the lawyers of Lahore and vowed to continue their efforts to uphold the principles of justice, rule of law, and protection of fundamental rights for all.
