PREVENTION OF CORRUPTION ACT AND ANTI-CORRUPTION MEASURES
The corrupt practices in Pakistan are increasing because the government is not taking proper measures to curb them same. The government is promoting corrupt practices in different sectors for their ulterior benefits by making laws favorable to the corrupt mafia.
The Courts usually remain blindfolded from the facts of the case because the cogent piece of evidence does not come up for the assessment, due to corrupt practices, as a result, the conviction rate is so less, while acquittal rate is increasing.
The police do not take appropriate measures to maintain peace, in fact by taking bribes, they involve innocent citizens in the false cases. Due to the corrupt practices of the police, no citizen finds himself secure.
It is pertinent to mention here that not just the public officials are involved in corrupt practices but also the local citizens. The citizens misuse and overuse the amenities provided to them by the government. The people are using corrupt practices in selling the things, they overcharge the things and earn illegal benefits.
The local citizens and government take help from local goons to protect or handle their corrupt practices. Most of the people in Pakistan are poor so a single person gets ready to be a part of the corrupt practices even with small margin benefits.
Pakistan is an Islamic country, which laid down on the principles of the Quran and Sunnah but sadly no Islamic principles of the divine law are enforceable.
People are not educated, due to which they don’t have a sense of right or wrong, as a result, they easily get involved in corrupt practices.
Law enforcement agencies are not strong enough to take steps against the corrupt goons.
Due to misuse of the merit system, no bright students come forward, and as a result, corrupt practices remain intact.
Inflation is also one of the main sources of corruption, as most of the people, as a result, most of the people prefer to take shortcuts to meet their goals.
We can curtail the problem of corruption by taking basic small steps if we are willing and if we want to make Pakistan corruption-free. Lastly, we all should work together to overcome this problem.
