Justice Irfan Saadat Khan Appointed as Acting Chief Justice of Pakistan

President House issued notification for resuming of Chief Justice of Sindh High Court seat as the current chief justice, Justice Ahmed Ali M. Shaikh, is scheduled to retire today, by senior puisne judge of the Sindh High Court Justice Irfan Saadat Khan as the high court’s acting chief justice on Saturday until the Judicial Commission of Pakistan appoints a permanent chief justice, Justice Khan will oversee SHC operations.

Acting by the power conferred to President under Article 196 of the Constitution, Arif Alvi appointed Justice Irfan Saadat Khan as acting chief justice of the SHC with effect from the date he makes oath of office until the appointment of a regular chief justice by the Judicial Commission of Pakistan

Justice Irfan Saadat Khan is a Pakistani jurist enrolled as an advocate of Supreme Court in 2008, who has been Senior Justice of the Sindh High Court since 15 March 2017
