Lahore: A joint meeting of the Lahore Bar Association and the Lahore High Court Bar Association was held on 12 October 2026, in which lawyers from across the city participated in large numbers. The complete cabinet of the Lahore Bar Association was also present on the occasion.
During the meeting, strong concerns were raised over the imposition of emergency and Governor’s Rule in Khyber Pakhtunkhwa under Articles 232 and 234 of the Constitution. Speakers emphasized the need to uphold constitutional and democratic values, fundamental human rights, and the supremacy of law.
Following the meeting, lawyers participated in a peaceful rally that culminated at GPO Chowk. The rally expressed full solidarity with the lawyers’ community and reaffirmed the commitment to the supremacy of the Constitution, democracy, the independence of the judiciary, and the protection of fundamental human rights.
