KARACHI: The Sindh High Court Bar Association (SHCBA) on Thursday inaugurated the Khadija Day Care Centre at the Sindh High Court’s parking area, marking a significant step toward supporting women in the legal profession. The facility was formally opened at 12:00 pm.
The initiative, led by President SHCBA Barrister Sarfaraz Ali Metlo, aims to provide working mothers—especially lady lawyers—a safe and secure space for their young children during court hours. According to the Bar, the centre will help ease the dual burden of professional duties and childcare responsibilities.
The newly established day care centre includes separate sections for infants and toddlers, along with a spacious area designed to accommodate a large number of children. The SHCBA stated that the project reflects its commitment to creating a more inclusive and supportive environment for women lawyers, enabling them to manage their work–life commitments more effectively.
