Justice (Retd) Abdul Maalik Gaddi Appointed Chairman of Drugs Court Karachi

KARACHI — The Government of Sindh has appointed Justice (Retd) Abdul Maalik Gaddi as Chairman of the Drugs Court Karachi for a three-year term, according to a notification issued on November 19, 2025, by the Law, Parliamentary Affairs & Criminal Prosecution Department.

The appointment was made on the recommendation of the Hon’ble Chief Justice of the Sindh High Court under Section 31 of the Drugs Act, 1976, and the Drugs (Sindh Amendment) Act, 2020. He will assume charge once he takes office, and the terms and conditions of his appointment will be issued separately.

Justice (Retd) Gaddi, born in Sukkur on January 2, 1959, comes from a religious family, with both his father and grandfather being Hafiz-e-Quran. His father, Hafiz Abdul Majeed, recited the Holy Quran in Salat-al-Taraweeh for nearly 50 years.

He received his early education in Sukkur, completed his LL.B. in 1982, practiced law for several years, and later served in the Sindh judiciary, eventually being elevated as a judge of the Sindh High Court.

The position of Chairman Drugs Court Karachi had been lying vacant until this appointment. The notification was signed by Secretary Ali Ahmed Baloch.
