In a solemn ceremony at the Supreme Court in Islamabad today, Hon’ble Mr. Justice Sardar Tariq Masood took the oath as the Acting Chief Justice of Pakistan. Administered by Hon’ble Mr. Justice Ijaz-Ul-Ahsan, the oath-taking event held on December 16, 2023, was marked by simplicity and dignity.
Justice Sardar Tariq Masood assumes the role of Acting Chief Justice during the absence of Hon’ble Mr. Justice Qazi Faiz Isa, the Chief Justice of Pakistan, who is currently abroad.
Distinguished attendees included Hon’ble Judges of the Supreme Court of Pakistan, Judges of Lahore High Court, the Attorney General for Pakistan, representatives of the Pakistan Bar Council, and members of the Supreme Court Bar Association. The proceedings were expertly conducted by Ms. Jazeela Aslam, Registrar of the Supreme Court of Pakistan, with the presence of officers and staff from the Supreme Court, adding to the significance of the occasion.
