Civil Judge-cum-Magistrate (BS-17)

 

Lahore High Court, Lahore invites applications from desiring persons domiciled in Punjab, having requisite qualifications as prescribed in the Punjab Judicial Service Rules, 1994, for appointment against some vacant temporary but likely to become permanent posts of Civil Judge-cum-Magistrate (BS-17) with all fringe benefits.

 

### Eligibility Criteria

 

1. Educational Qualification:

– Degree in Law from a recognized University entitling the candidate to practice the profession of law, or be a member of the Faculty of Advocates of Scotland.

 

2. Professional Experience:

– Must be an advocate who has actively practised the profession of law for not less than 02 years after having been enrolled as an advocate.

– Two years’ practice as an advocate shall be counted from the date when the Advocate enrolled himself/herself with any Bar Association under Rule 7.10 read with Rule 7.18 of The Punjab Legal Practitioners and Bar Council Rules, 2023.

– Must fulfill the criteria laid down under Rule-7 of Punjab Judicial Service Rules, 1994.

 

3. Age Limit:

– Not less than twenty-two years and not more than thirty-five years of age as on 04.04.2026.

– Age eligibility will not be determinable from the date of this advertisement.

 

Quota Allocation

 

– 3% quota reserved for differently abled persons as laid down in The Punjab Disabled Persons (Employment and Rehabilitation Ordinance, 1981 as amended through Ordinance, 2015 (X of 2015).

– 5% quota reserved for Minorities in the light of the Government of the Punjab Notification No. SOR-III (S & GAD) 1-35/93, dated 27.03.2010.

 

Examination and Selection Process

 

– Written examination of law and other subjects as laid down in Notification No. SOR-III(S&GAD)1-13/2025 dated 08.04.2025 issued by the Regulations Wing of Services and General Administration Department, Govt. of the Punjab.

– Candidates required to secure 40% marks in each paper and 45% in aggregate to be eligible for psychological and aptitude test.

– Interview/viva voce of 300 marks with minimum 50% passing marks (150/300) to be declared successful.

– Success in the interview is mandatory.

– Prescribed form and important instructions are available on the website; candidates must download and read all instructions before filling the online form.

– Non-refundable examination fee of Rs. 5,000/- shall be deposited in any branch of MCB bank with Gold Saving Account No. 0785503341001134 titled ‘Human Resource-District Judiciary’.

– Fee submitted through online mobile banking or any other online medium will not be accepted.

– Hard copy of the online application form, fee deposit slip in original, and relevant documents must be dispatched through courier service to the Registrar of this court with attention to “Examination Wing of Lahore High Court, Lahore”.

– No hard copy of the online application shall be accepted after the deadline

– Answer books of the examination shall be disposed of after three months from the date of appointment of successful candidates
