An agreement arises from offer and acceptance. One person makes an offer and another person accepts that offer there is an agreement. Offer and acceptance are define as:

Offer: according to black law dictionary, an offer is something proffered. An offer by one person to another, of terms and conditions with reference to some work or understanding, or for the transfer of property.

Section 2 a of the contract act 1872 define, when one person signifies to another his willingness to do or abstain from doing anything, with a view to obtain the assent of that other to such act or abstinence, he is said to make a proposal.
