Complete Enrollment Process from First intimation till obtaining License

Getting enrolled as an Advocate

(This process is for Applicants/Candidates of Sindh only) 

  1. First Intimation

  2. Law- Gat 

  3. Second Intimation

  4. Two Weeks Vocational Training Course

  5. Short Test and Viva -voice Examination 

  6. Enrollment

First Intimation:

As soon as you have attempted your final year exams, you can without waiting for your result apply for the first intimation in order to commence the pupillage period. 

 

How to Apply for First Intimation

  1. Take the form from Sindh Bar Council or Print it on the Legal size page from the Legal Template Page.
  2. Fill out the the from with yours detail and senior information where required and attached the following document; 

    a. Two sets of attested photocopies of following documents:

     

    i.   Matriculation Certificate/O-level (Copy) (Attested, Signed and stamped by senior and candidate)

    ii.  Intermediate/A-Level Cetificate/Marksheet (Copy) (Attested and, Signed and stamped by senior and candidate)

     iii. LLB Part 1 and 2 Marksheet and Admit card of Final year 

                          or

            LLB Final Year Marksheet 

    b. Affidavit on Rs. 50 Stamp Paper (Available at Legal Template Page)

    c. Copy of Senior ID Card issued by Sindh Bar Council

    d. Copy of Applicant’s CNIC card

  3. Fee Voucher from HBL bank in Sindh High Court (you can either pay in full, amounting to Rs. 13,500, or in two installments as Rs. 7,000 and 6,500) please note that fee may have an increase 
  4. Submit the form with the attached documents and paid the fee voucher receipt.
  5. Take a receiving from the Office of Sindh Bar Council.

Applying for Law-GAT

To apply for Law-GAT follow the HEC Twitter page and various social platforms to get updates on the Law-GAT. Usually, the Law-GAT test repeats two or three times a year. Only those who have cleared their final year of LLB can apply for Law-GAT as soon as the announcement is made you may register yourself at this link http://etc.hec.gov.pk 

 

  1. Register yourself at this portal.
  2. Sign in the Portal
  3. As you will sign in,  a page will open when you will scroll down a little you will have options that will read under  “Apply for Graduate Test”  Open till XX months 20XX
  4. Click on it and then fill out the necessary details. Remember that when the second form titled as “Law Graduate Test” will appear you will be needing to download the voucher under the heading of Bank Details which will be shown like this at the very left  ACTION  (download button)
  5. When you will click, your Voucher will be downloaded. The voucher will have details where you need to submit it.
  6. The fee will be Rs. 3000 which is already printed on the voucher.
  7. After submitting your voucher to Bank, fill out the necessary bank details and then upload the challan receipt image by clicking this black folder symbol button on the right side just above the “submit” button
  8. Double-check the form and then submit button.
  9. In case you have wrongly submitted your form visit http://onlinehelp.hec.gov.pk/ and submit your request with a screenshot of your mistake.
  10. 7-15 days before the Test you will receive your Roll no. Slip through your email ID and in case if you haven’t received open your portal account and download the button under the heading of my Application. And you will use the same button to see your result card.
  11. Print the roll no. slip and Properly read the instructions. Kindly don’t bring your cell phone otherwise you will be sent back from the center.
  12. Bring with you
    1. Printed Copy of Roll no. Slip
    2. Original Fees receipt 
    3. Original NIC
  13.  Come at least 1 hour earlier.
  14. Rember in your bubble sheet you will have two paper sheets. Don’t forget to turn in the second sheet in order to later check your answer. 
  15. After 4-5 days of paper, you check your number from the answer key
  16. Print the result card. 
  17. Tip: the result usually takes a week time. In the meanwhile father your second intimation document to save you time.

Submitting your Second Intimation

When you have to Submit your First Intimation and have cleared your Final Year you will be required to submit your second intimation:

PROCEDURE FOR SECOND INTIMATION

  1. Attempt Law-GAT exams 
  2. Take the second intimation form from the Sindh Bar Council
  3. Fill out the required formality in the form.
  4. Gather the required documents for Second Intimation as mentioned below:
  5. I. Matriculation/O-Level Certificate (Copy) (Attested, Signed, and stamped by senior and candidate – mention “true copy”)II. Intermediate/A-Level Certificate/Marksheet (Copy) (Attested and, Signed and stamped by senior and candidate – mention “true copy”)III. Bachelor’s Degree/Certificate (Copy) (Attested and, Signed and stamped by senior and candidate  – mention “true copy”)IV. LLB/BALLB Degree/Certificate (Copy) (Attested and, Signed and stamped by senior and candidate  – mention “true copy”)V. Two Character Certificates from senior other than your senior having ten years standing (Character Certificate format is available on Legal Template Page)VI. Undertaking VII. List of Ten Cases (Draft format is available on the Legal Template Page)VIII. Six Recent Photographs in Court Dress IX.  Certificate of training (Print it on the letterhead of your         Senior – Signed and Stamped by Senior)X.     XI.  Law-GAT Result (Download the result card from the 

           portal and print the copy)

    XII. Certificate of training (Print it on the letterhead of your 

            Senior – Signed and Stamped by Senior)

    XIII. Copy of Provisional Certificate from the College (not necessary) 

    XIV. NIC Copy

  6.  All those submitting as per the old fee shall pay Rs. 19,000 and those on new fees shall submit Rs. 24,200 (Please note that this fee is mentioned as per recent charges and may have increased in the future) The voucher will be available from HBL Bank in High Court. You may pay together in one account or separately in each specified account.
  7. Note that for second intimation fee, you cannot make installments you need to pay in full and also pay the first intimation due payment.
  8. With all the attached documents and paid fee voucher, submit your form to the Sindh Bar Council office.

Two Weeks Vocational Training Course

The training course is usually conducted by Sindh Judicial Academy but the list is sent by the Sindh Bar Council. All those applicants who have submitted their Second intimation will automatically be listed for Vocational Training Course. In case you are not listed kindly contact the Sindh Bar Council office before the classes. 

The Cources is a two weeks Training Program conducted by the senior advocates arranged by  Sindh Judicial Academy. The Course rotates in a different city every month. Therefore vigilance will be the key factor for obtaining enrollment at the earliest.

At the end of the Course, you will have a brief exam. It’s upon 90% attendance at least you will be granted the certificate. This certificate copy will be submitted to the Sindh Bar Council. 

 

Short Test and Viva -Voice Examination 

On completion of the above obligation, Sindh Bar Council will issue a letter for the Viva-Voice Examination. The letter will be sent to your respective senior office in whose name you have filed the intimation. 

The Letter shall contain the Date of the examination and the necessary details. In the Viva, you will specifically be questioned with regard to sections of usual Applications and regarding the case, you have submitted along the second intimation. 

Process of Viva-Voice Examination:

  1. Bring the following: a. Pen and pencilb. The viva voice examination Letter
  2. Come in the Court dress to the Sindh High Court.
  3. As you will reach the examination area, there will be a list pinned to the board. Check your roll no. number and committee number from the list and then enter the examination Cell. 
  4. In the Cell, you will be handed a short test containing 25-30 MCQs from the relevant subjects mentioned in Viva Voice Examination Letter. You will have 1 hr to complete the test.
  5. After completing and submitting the test you will be lined up for the Viva as per your committee number and your roll no. in accordance with the list. When your number will be called you will be taken to the interview room where a 2-3 member committee will take your interview.
  6. After your interview, you will be sent home

Enrollment 

After 5-6 days of Viva, you will be issued an enrollment number from the Sindh Bar Council or from the website: https://advocates.sindhbarcouncil.org/enrollments_search.php 

On this site, Just fill out the “Adv. Name” column and click the search button. Your picture along with your details and enrollment no. will be displayed. In case you will not found the enrollment number you may visit the Sindh Bar Council office located on the first floor of the Old Annexe Building of Sindh High Court. Within a few weeks, you will be called for the License Ceremony, where you will be issued a certificate and after that, you will be given Sindh Bar Council Card separately. 

 

Congratulations! You are now an Advocate.
