Justice (R) Abdul Rasool Mamon designated as Chairmanship of NIRC

According to a notification issued by the federal government on 1st June, Abdul Rasool Mamon, a former judge of the Sindh High Court (SHC), has been named the chairman of the National Industrial Relation Commission (NIRC) for a term that cannot exceed three years.

Abdul Rasool Mamon has been appointed as the NIRC chairman with immediate effect under the terms of Section 53(4) of the Industrial Relation Act (IRA), 2012, read with Rules 3(1) and (2) of the appointment of the Chairman and Members (Qualification) Rules, 2022.

1956 saw the birth of Justice Abdul Rasool Memon in Shahpur Jehania, Nawabshah. After successfully clearing the test administered by the Sindh Public Service Commission, Hyderabad, he began his career as a Civil Judge in 1984. In addition to his work as a judge, he was an Honorary Professor at the University of Sindh’s Faculty of Law where he taught the Qanoon-e-Shahadat and Hudood Laws. He was appointed as a judge of the High Court in May 2013 after being raised to the prestigious Bench of the High Court of Sindh in June 2012 as an Additional Judge.
