What is the real story being Advocate Nasir Malik Murder

In a shocking incident, Advocate Nasir Malik, 38, was gunned down in Karachi’s Soldier Bazar area, marking the second targeted killing of a lawyer in just 10 days. The incident has triggered widespread anger among the legal community, with the Karachi Bar Association (KBA) announcing a protest march to the Chief Minister’s House against the rising violence and police inaction.

The Incident

According to SHO Waqar Azeem of Soldier Bazar Police Station, Advocate Nasir Malik was visiting his sister at Al-Fareed Apartment on Business Recorder Road in Garden East when armed assailants ambushed him in the building’s parking area. The attackers opened indiscriminate fire before fleeing on motorcycles and in private cars. Malik sustained fatal injuries and was pronounced dead at the scene.

Second Murder in 10 Days

This killing follows the murder of another lawyer, Advocate Abdul Razzaq, who was shot dead in Karachi’s Nazimabad area just days earlier. The back-to-back targeted killings have left the legal fraternity in distress, with many accusing law enforcement of failing to protect citizens and arrest the culprits.

Lawyers’ Protest

The Karachi Bar Association (KBA) has condemned the killings and announced a protest march to the Chief Minister’s House, demanding immediate action against the perpetrators. Lawyers have expressed frustration over the police’s inability to curb such attacks, despite previous assurances.

Police Under Fire

Critics have slammed the Karachi police for their failure to make any arrests in either case, raising concerns about the deteriorating law and order situation in the city. The KBA has called for a thorough investigation and swift justice, warning of further protests if their demands are not met.

Growing Concerns Over Lawyer Safety

The recent killings have reignited fears among lawyers, who have frequently been targeted in Karachi over professional and personal disputes. Legal associations are now urging authorities to provide better security for legal professionals and take concrete steps to dismantle criminal networks operating with impunity.
