Why did you pursue the Legal profession? What is the motivation behind it?
Being Graduated in Finance & Accounting from Warwick University, UK, I always wanted to make my contribution in an area where I can apply my Accountancy and Legal skills at the same time. During my training period I have had interaction with the Corporate Lawyers who at the time inspired me to choose Law as my Profession.
What approach did you follow that led you to where you are now, a successful lawyer?
I am a Self Trained Advocate, whose success is based on Research from Law Journals, Articles and Reports.
What is your story of narrowing down your scope in Corporate and Civil Law?
My father was a practicing Chartered Accountant and a Tax Practitioner in Pakistan having his own Firm of about 50 staff members working under him. At initial stage of my career I have had the opportunity to deal with numerous Corporate and Tax cases that eventually I got the Mastery over the specific area of Law.
Which struggle give you the most boost in your life?
After the sad demise of my father, I had to work extra hard to establish my name, entity and also to keep my father’s name alive.
What was the most unusual case you have ever dealt with?
Every case has its own ups and downs. Every case has a new learning curve.
How do you define a Qualitative Lawyer?
A legal person who holds a Mastery on his subject and has excellent analytical skills with research and knowledge and also be able to communicate his point of view to a layperson.
What amendment do you suggest in Law?
None. There should be a process for the implementation of Law.
What is the best way to win a case?
Q9. Complete all the ingredients of the Very Law upon which the case is relied with lots of Research of Law and its Precedents.
The Original Jurisdiction is only available in Sindh High Court only and not in any other province, What do you suggest that should such be also in other provinces or not?
In my opinion the original jurisdiction shall lie upon the District Courts which is supposed to be the Court of First Instance, whereas all the Apex Courts may only be the Appellate forum.
What has been your contribution for the lawyers community as well Society/Public
Being an Advocate, I have also dealt with over 100 cases on a gratis basis for those aggrieved individuals who can’t afford to bear the Legal Expenses of their counsels.
How do you define a function of Advocacy?
Ethics, Confidentiality, Competency and Justification of the Cases.
Name 3 or 4 of the most prominent acts which you believe one should have command on, in legal profession?
Code of Civil Procedure 1908, Code of Criminal Procedures 1898, Pakistan Penal Code 1860 and Qanun e Shahadat Order 1984.
How much strict adherence of deciding cases within 1 year do you see?
Its practically impossible unless the process of Law is update and strict abidance those process of Law.
In our course, practical skills are not taught like in Bar at Law. what is your opinion on it?
I do not agree, I believe there should be more moot courts for the students that will enable to enhance their Advocacy skills and better grasp of understanding the Law.
What will you do for the Lawyer community if you were elected for any of the Bar Association
First thing I will do is I will tender my resignation to the Bar.
